Birthdays

Standard

Birthdays. They come once a year. You get presents galore. Birthday wishes. and for once, you get to have your cake and eat it too.

But we’re so dependant on the clock for the day and the seconds, taking into account a slow/fast clock, time zones, Daylight Savings Time and most of all watching the seconds tick away from 11:59 on your birthday eve.

Someone born in Canada at 10:12pm on Saturday, 9th february, celebrates their birthday on the 9th of February every year until they die, but according to Central Universal Time (UTC) or or Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) they were born at 2:12am on 10th of February. So what actually determines your true date of birth? your place of birth, current location, birth certificate?

It lies entirely in your hands, but for many means the actual date, regardless of area of residency or location.

Your birthday is the day that everything is about YOU! unless you’re a twin or something like that.

The only reason I started ranting on about birthdays is the fact that, it’s my birthday in exactly an hour and twenty eight minutes.

I’m one of those who waits for 12:00. 27th of April 😛

Tick Tock.
